Yes, that's the whole point. Every month we work directly with a local Austin shelter to feature two real animals who need homes. Their actual photos, names, ages, and personalities are printed right on the postcard, along with how to contact the shelter to start the adoption process.

Each month, we donate a portion of every subscription directly to the shelter we featured that month. We publish monthly donation reports so you can see exactly what was donated and to whom.

We ship once per month, as early in the month as possible. Subscriptions are processed on a monthly cutoff of the 25th. Subscribe by the 25th and you'll be included in the following month's mailing. Subscribe after the 25th and your first envelope ships the month after that. You'll get an email notification when yours is on the way.

We partner with Austin-area animal shelters and rescue organizations on a rotating monthly basis. We'll announce each month's featured shelter on our Instagram page and include a write-up about them in your envelope. If you have a shelter you'd love to see featured, send us a note; we'd love to hear from you.

Absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time, no phone calls, no waiting, no questions asked. Visit the Manage Subscription page, enter your email, and Stripe will send you a link to your portal. You can also email us at support@austinpetpost.com and we'll take care of it right away. If you cancel before your next billing date, you won't be charged for the following month.

It rotates! Planned goodies include cute stickers, small art prints, bookmarks and more light-weight creative goodies. They're always animal-themed and chosen with care. We may occasionally feature items from local Austin artists and makers, because shopping local matters too.

Yes! We ship anywhere in the United States. Our shelter partnerships are Austin-focused, but your subscription helps those local animals find homes no matter where you live. Want to spread the word about an Austin animal while living in New York? We love that.

No. Gifts are prepaid and stop automatically after the selected number of mailings. We collect the recipient's name, mailing address, optional gift message, and preferred first mailing month when you set up the gift.
